Fixed Observation Points:

The observation points are located in sturdy, protected metal towers.  The usual height of these towers is 35 meters, but it is possible to install towers of varying sizes.  The  installation points are carefully chosen.  They are strategic location points that allow a maximum visual field and that permit the protection of the largest area of land possible.

These towers are equipped with an optronic system (thermal camera and cctv camera) which is continuously functioning and rotates 360 degrees.  They are installed at the top of a specially made mast and isolated from the metal of the tower.  The tower is equipped with an electric antishock protection and made to withstand high winds.

The tower heights vary depending on the needs and the terrain, in the picture you can see a surveillance system self supporting tower 35 meters high.

For storage, electronics and energy, we install different sets precast concrete or outdoor cabinets stainless steel fencing inside the tower.

Optronic surveillance systems are installed different types of towers and can be connected to the electrical network or have its own independent supply as in the picture.

Tower running (1), is the 24-hour continuous observation, the images captured by the cameras (2 and 4) are sent via radio link (3) from the tower itself to the control center.

The surveillance point configuration can be very diverse, choosing between different types of optronic systems or communications towers.

The cameras installed in the towers are able to work both day and night, even in adverse weather conditions (darkness, fog, smoke, etc..), That is because of its dual lens equipped with thermal vision capability and conventional simultaneously. (1) Torre affected by adverse weather conditions, (2, 3, 4) the result of the captured images is not influenced by these circumstances thermal vision optics, whereas in a conventional image could not visualize almost anything.

The tower is equipped with an integrated communication system which transfers real time images to the control center.  Various communication systems are possible depending on the distances,  the topography and the particular characteristics of the installation at hand.


Depending on the type of installation being realized it is possible to incorporate in the lower level of the tower a Transformation Center (CT) which houses all the technological support for the tower and a complete meteorological station.


Meteorological data such as temperature, atmospheric pressure, humidity, wind speed and direction are transmitted to the control center together with images.


The entire system can be made up of as many automatic points as necessary. This depends on each individual case, taking into account factors such as topography and the total amount of forest expanse needing protection.

The towers are located in strategically chosen points from where you can monitor a large forest area.

In the picture with the channel CCTV smoke from a fire can not see anything in the lower thermal image allows a perfect view of the outbreaks and the intensity thereof.

Use of Thermal Cameras in the Analysis of Images

The use of thermal images in systems brings with it a series of  important advantages:

The image is a controlled burn by the CCTV camera optronic system, the lower the same burning at the same time by the thermal signal.

Detection in Large Environments:

Working from large distances the images of the conventional systems of observation and detection (1 and 2) does not give us any information, however, the thermal images (3) allow us to detect and visualize in detail even in adverse weather conditions such as fog, smoke, pollution, low or no light, etc.. heat sources for small, can reliably identify individuals, vehicles, bonfires -

In the example below you can see a small fire detection to several kilometers from the point of observation.

Monitoring and Surveillance:

We can see in these images at night, captured by thermal cameras (1, 2 and 3), as both vehicles, and people, are clearly identifiable in the night. Could also be reached without difficulty in bad weather, in addition to requesting the system to perform automated tracking of any object that is moving.

WIMAX and WIFI Coverage

The forest surveillance towers can be equipped with a communication system known as WIMAX-WIFI which allows the vehicles of the forest rangers to maintain contact with the CPM on a continuous basis through wide band internet.  These types of connections bring together all the advantages this type of connection offers.

In addition, this coverage provides the localization of the surveillance vehicles which are equipped with a GPS system.  In this way the vehicles are continuously emitting their position and informing the control center of their whereabouts in case of accident and also so that the control center can guide them safely through a forest fire.

It is important to consider that on many occasions the areas where these vehicles are circulating there is no cell phone coverage and it  is even difficult to use a radio.  That is why  this coverage then is so important: it allows the forest ranger to contact the control center or other vehicles without delay.

Use of Renewable Energies

We are committed to the use of clean and renewable energy. In 2011 we installed renewable energy systems in more than half of the towers.

Solar panels and small windmills have been installed on each tower. In this way obtaining a combined solar and wind energy with the capacity of guaranteeing continuous power to all the apparatus on each tower, 24 hours a day and 365 days a year.

Solar panels are installed on the tower itself and have the possibility of winter and summer orientation.
